A life spent opening doors.
Johnas Chami is a Tanzanian strategist, builder and storyteller. He works where technology, enterprise and development meet, so that opportunity can move between Africa and the world.
He comes from Tanzania and works globally, currently based between Dar es Salaam and Portugal. That geography is not a brand story. It is the work: building the relationships, platforms and skills that let people, institutions and ideas travel.
As a data and analytics engineer, Johnas has worked across hospitality, healthcare, technology and industry, with organisations including Microsoft, Cloudflare and Ipsos. That training shows in how he builds: evidence first, systems second, people always.
In 2025 he founded Inua Hub, a youth-led organisation creating digital skills, entrepreneurship and networks for young people, women and small businesses in Tanzania and Portugal. From that work came Inua 1961, a long-horizon programme to prepare a generation of African innovators for a global digital economy.
The thesis is simple. Access to technology is no longer an advantage. It is infrastructure. The work is to make that infrastructure belong to more people, and to build the partnerships that keep the door open.
Helping people is not only about providing for today. It is about equipping them for tomorrow. Skills are the greatest gift we can give.
